PepsiAmericas and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Partner to Raise Awareness of Breast Cancer.


MINNEAPOLIS -- PepsiAmericas, Inc. (NYSE NYSE

:PAS), the world's second-largest Pepsi bottler, announced today that it has chosen the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as the beneficiary of its Diet Pepsi Diet Pepsi is a low-calorie carbonated cola, introduced in 1964 as a variant of Pepsi-Cola with no sugar. Its current formula in the United States contains only the artificial sweetener aspartame, but the current Canadian formulation contains both aspartame (124mg/355ml) and  sales promotion to support the fight against breast cancer. The program is scheduled to run with participating retailers from Sept. 1, 2006 through Oct. 31, 2006 and will feature approximately four million specially marked Diet Pepsi products in 12- and 24-packs. The packaging will feature Komen Foundation licensed graphics. As part of the program, PepsiAmericas will also donate $100,000 to the Foundation.
