PeopleSoft extends industry-leading financial management solutions.

PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT) announced significant new enhancements to its CFO Portal solution, including 30 new key performance indicators (KPIs) optimized to deliver greater transparency and improve visibility into financial performance. PeopleSoft also announced its Government Portal solution, a new offering for government organizations designed to measure and help manage operational performance.

These products are key components of PeopleSoft's Financial Management Solutions (FMS) blueprint, a powerful business architecture that combines best-practice business process models with PeopleSoft's robust transaction systems and comprehensive analytics solutions--all accessed through a roles-based financial portal. PeopleSoft's FMS blueprint enables a fundamental shift in the role of the finance organization, from tactical to strategic.

The PeopleSoft CFO Portal solution delivers real-time business intelligence to business and finance managers through a personalized browser interface. Enhancements to PeopleSoft's CFO Portal includes 30 additional key performance indicators and financial views including Projected Capital Activity to Plan, Operating Budget Variance, Receivables Aging Summary and Bad Debt Write-off by Customer. As a result, users can view financial data across strategic, operational, and risk management dimensions.

The CFO Portal solution integrates complete business processes, enabling customers to view top-line strategic indicators and then drill into the transactional system to take action. For example, a manager who is alerted that days sales outstanding has moved outside the acceptable operational threshold, can drill down into the financial information to understand the root cause. As a result, a customer's credit status can be adjusted in real time.

The new PeopleSoft Government Portal solution delivers more than 30 pre-configured, standard metrics used by government institutions to track operational performance. By giving employees access to this information, accountability is increased at all levels of the organization. For example, key performance indicators such as Reimbursables Collected to Target can alert government organizations to the need to better manage their reimbursable funding by collecting and distributing funding appropriately.
