PeopleSoft will be the first enterprise applications software vendor to integrate content from core business applications with third party portals using the WSRP standard.

"Companies increasingly need to aggregate data across multiple portal platforms and Web applications, and provide an intuitive user interface," said Roy Satterthwaite, vice president of marketing, PeopleSoft Tools & Technology. "PeopleSoft continues to embrace open standards such as WSRP to allow customers to effectively address their portal and Web services integration challenges."

As a founding member of the OASIS Technical Committee on WSRP, PeopleSoft is actively involved in refining the WSRP standard as well as collaborating with other vendors to help resolve the inability to interoperate across multiple portal platforms and applications. WSRP simplifies integration by allowing a portal administrator to select desired services from a list and integrate them into their portal. Like other Web service standards, WSRP provides seamless integration between disparate technologies such as .NET and Java.

PeopleSoft Community Portal will provide support for WSRP in the 8.9 release scheduled for Q1 2005.
