PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT) announced that leading healthcare organizations are rapidly adopting the company's real-time enterprise applications. PeopleSoft's suite of solutions including Materials Management, Financial Management, Human Capital Management, and Enterprise Performance Management enable healthcare organizations to optimize administrative systems to improve operations. In the first three quarters of 2002, more than 90 healthcare organizations licensed PeopleSoft solutions for the healthcare industry.

New healthcare customers licensing PeopleSoft solutions this year include: Valley Baptist Health System, St. Joseph Health System, Cedars Sinai Health System, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, and Community Foundation NW Indiana. Existing customers licensing additional PeopleSoft products include: El Camino Health, Kasier Permanente, Prudential Insurance Company, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, University of Massachusetts, and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Health System.

Valley Baptist Health System, a multi-purpose community health service institution specializing in a wide variety of health services, licensed PeopleSoft Materials Management, Financial Management, Human Capital Management, and the Enterprise Portal. The integrated solution will provide a scalable environment that streamlines financial and purchasing operations, allowing quick access to critical decision-making information. Valley Baptist will be able to replace its current paper-based materials management system with an online, real-time system. This will enable purchasing managers to improve contract negotiations with key suppliers and purchase medical and business supplies as needed, resulting in reduced inventory costs.
