David Foster, president of IOMA, a $19 million subsidiary of the Bureau of National Affairs, named to the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Hall of Fame, cited at the annual conference as an exemplary "innovator, teacher, and leader." In addition to being a highly successful publisher (having launched seven newsletters just in the last 12 months), David has been on the NEPA board of directors for a total of 11 years and has held every office on that board, including 1997-98 president. He is also a trustee of Bates College in Lewiston, ME. Marjorie Weiner, president and publisher of the Philadelphia Division of American Lawyer Media, named NEPA Volunteer of the Year. She chaired not only the annual conference in Washington this month but also last December's New York conference--said by some to be almost the equivalent of a full-time job, lining up more than 175 speakers. Since 1989 she has served in a variety of publishing and marketing positions in the newsletter industry.
