Joan Walsh Joan Walsh is an American editor, writer, and blogger. Since February 2005 she has been the editor-in-chief of Salon.com, a San Francisco-based on-line magazine. She joined Salon as its first full-time news editor in 1998, and became managing editor in 2004.  Cassedy from president and chief executive of King Publishing Group and King Communications Group Inc., to executive director of the American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of  Counsel of Independent Laboratories.
