Degussa names Lux product manager

Degussa-Huls of Ridgefield, NJ named Heinz Lux product manager of precipitated silicas.

Working in the advanced fillers and pigments division, Lux will manage and market commodity precipitated silica products designed for use in tires and mechanical rubber goods. This includes management of Degussa's Ultrasil 7000 precipitated silica.

Prior to joining Degussa-Huls, Lux was product manager of specialty silicas at Degussa-Huls AG, headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany.

He has held various sales, marketing and export management responsibilities since joining the company in 1988.

Lux earned a marketing degree from the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and a diploma of world trade from the Academy of World Trade in Frankfurt.

TECHNICAL

Alice B. Uminska joined Gold Key Processing as senior chemist.

David Raia was appointed senior technical support engineer for J-Von.

Kathlene Rantz joined National Drying as product specialist for the chemical industry.

Eagle-Picher Automotive's rubber molding division named Amod Thakur development chemist. The company named Debora Trailor product engineering manager for the division. Dean Fremling was appointed applications engineer for the rubber molding division.

Fitz Chem appointed Amanda Polacek inside technical associate.

West Pharmaceutical Services named James Faust sector vice president of operations.

Sartomer promoted Paul Elias to business director of specialty products.

John Morrell was appointed president of Acheson Industries.
