Struktol names Howard president

Struktol Company of America promoted Brian C. Howard to president. Howard has been with Struktol since 1982, when he started in technical sales. He became Struktol sales manager in 1986, vice president of sales in 1988 and executive vice president in 1991. He began his career in the rubber industry with Firestone Tire Development after graduating from Michigan State University Michigan State University, at East Lansing; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1855. It opened in 1857 as Michigan Agricultural College, the first state agricultural college.  in 1973.

TECHNICAL

Toyota Industrial Equipment promoted Brett Wood to national product planning and research manager. The company also named Adam Hughes electric product planning manager.

Manufacturing and Consulting Services appointed Roger W. Burgin vice president, technical development.

MANAGEMENT

Samir G. Gibara, chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Goodyear Tire and Rubber, was elected to the board of directors of International Paper.

Clariant Masterbatches Division named John Clark vice president, general manager of the midwest region. The company also appointed Jean Sirois vice president, general manager for the southwest U.S. and Mexico region.

Jim Mayo was named director of sales for C.P. Hall's polymer additives business.

Theodore W. Haddie and Cindy J. McNeirney have joined M.F. Cachat in the customer service department.

Abrasive Supply Company named George Gerold west coast sales representative and David Norton east coast sales representative.

David Paul Verderbar was appointed chemical sales consultant by Leo Leo, in astronomy

AWARDS

George Bishop, Truflex/Pang Rubber Products, Vicencio Paludo, Borrachas Vipal SA, and Paul Ruesch, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), independent agency of the U.S. government, with headquarters in Washington, D.C. It was established in 1970 to reduce and control air and water pollution, noise pollution, and radiation and to ensure the safe handling and , were all awarded the 1999 Industry Leadership Award, by the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA ITRA International Tire and Rubber Association
ITRA Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance
). The award is given to individuals who show overall leadership and innovation for products and services to foster and promote the international transportation industry. ITRA also awarded Tiffany Hughes, American Rubber Technologies, and Roy Littlefield, International Tire & Rubber Association, the Friend of the Industry Award. This recognizes individuals who are allies and proven supporters of the international transportation industry.

The ITRA's Pioneer Award honors individuals or companies that have developed or implemented products and services for the international transportation industry. ITRA chose Matteuzzi srl, Calderara Di Reno, Italy, and Robert Winters, Atlos Rubber Company, to receive this year's awards.

The Association for Finishing Processes of Society of Manufacturing Engineers The Society of Manufacturing Engineers [1] (SME) is dedicated to bringing people and information together to advance manufacturing knowledge. SME is internationally recognized by manufacturing practitioners, companies and other organizations as a source for information,  will present Robert D. Great the finishing processes best paper award.

ASSOCIATIONS

Steven T. Hale, Madison Chemical Company, has been named the 1999 chairman of the board of advisors of the Association for Finishing Processes of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
