SERVICE NETWORKS Spring 2002

GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2002

Event Has Evolved From ISPCON, CDN, ASPCON and LAST MILE,

Creating A "Must Attend" Gathering For Service Provider Industry

Building on the legacy of ISPCON, ASPCON, CDN and LAST MILE, Penton Media's (NYSE: PME, www.penton.com) SERVICE NETWORKS Spring 2002 debuts at the Baltimore Convention Center next week, from May 21 - 23.

By combining key elements of these events, Penton has created a much more comprehensive and relevant offering for forward-thinking network service technologists and entrepreneurs.

Jon Price, Vice President, Service Provider Events Group, explains the changes. "The market has evolved quite a bit since our formative years in 1992 as BBSCON, becoming ISPCON in 1996 and today as SERVICE NETWORKS," Price says, "The name has changed through the years, yet our focus remains centered on the business of delivering networked services."

SERVICE NETWORKS is dedicated to uncovering the infrastructure, technology and business practices that deliver profitable network services to customers. Each segment of the service provider community is represented, whether they exist within independent service providers, enterprises, content and application hosting facilities or telecommunications businesses.

The revitalized, focused conference program has been created by Scott Mace, Editorial Director of Penton Service Provider Events, who has developed several concurrent tracks across the landscape of markets, topics and audiences. The conference will addresses the major areas of focus for the future of the service provider industry in six conference tracks: Business Operations; Service Provider Congress; Data Services Management; Content and Application Strategies; Executive Forums and Last Mile Strategies.

Beyond the conference sessions, all SERVICE NETWORKS attendees will have the opportunity to learn from many of the industry's true leaders, who will be presenting their "views from the top" at the event's keynotes, including:
- Call to Arms: Who Speaks for the ISPs? Get in Line, Lock and Load, Fight or
Stand Back and Die, Tuesday, May 21 from 5 - 7 p.m. Moderator: David Robertson,
President, STIC.NET, LP.
