Dallas Event to Focus on Opportunities in Green Operations and Design

The Green Hospitality Conference will be one of the first events in the lodging industry to be certified as "carbon neutral," an initiative administered by Sustainable Travel International in which sponsors provide funds to offset carbon emissions produced during the event. Sponsor funds are used to sponsor renewable energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation.  and energy efficiency projects in the U.S.

The program will feature an expert roster of speakers from the hotel industry and the green movement, including the following individuals and sessions:

* Interactive panel discussions will focus on issues hoteliers face in applying green principles. Topics will include green housekeeping, design and construction and green power.

* Roundtable discussions will enable attendees to listen and pose questions to experts on a variety of green topics, including energy efficiency, water conservation and waste reduction, as well as recycling and indoor air quality Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) deals with the content of interior air that could affect health and comfort of building occupants. The IAQ may be compromised by microbial contaminants (mold, bacteria), chemicals (such as carbon monoxide, radon), allergens, or any mass or energy stressor .

* The closing session will feature an all-star panel of hotel company officers who will report on the results of the roundtable discussions.

The final conference cocktail reception will include attendees from the Strategic Conference on Hospitality Operations and Technology (HOT), which begins on Thursday, March 15 at the Hilton Anatole and is also sponsored by Lodging Hospitality. The cost of the Green Hospitality Conference is $99 for two registrations, and includes all sessions, lunch, conference materials and a cocktail reception.
