Note: The announcement of above two directors was announced on May 31, 2007, and resolved at the 77th general shareholders meeting of PENTAX held on June 27, 2007 under the condition that "such election to take effect only if the HOYA Corporation files a large scale acquisition report (tairyo hoyuu houkokusho) with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau stating to the effect that its share certificates etc. holding ratio (as defined in Article 27-23, Section 4 of the Securities Exchange Law) in respect of the Company has exceeded 50 percent and only as of the date of such filing." Today, we confirms that HOYA Corporation submitted a large scale acquisition report to Kanto Local Finance Bureau, and thereby notifies above election has being taking effect.
