Penn Traffic Appoints Ronald Szczepanski Vice President of Produce and Floral.

SYRACUSE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2002

The Penn Traffic The Penn Traffic Company operates 109 supermarkets in Pennsylvania, upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. The Penn Traffic Company of today was built through the merger of three strong regional supermarket companies in the late 1980s, The Penn Traffic Company, P&C Foods and  Company (Nasdaq:PNFT) today announced that it has appointed Ronald Szczepanski as its new Vice President of Produce and Floral.

"Ron Szczepanksi's quarter-century of experience in the supermarket industry will be a great asset to Penn Traffic," said Joseph V. Fisher, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Syracuse, New York-based Penn Traffic. "His expertise in all aspects of produce buying and marketing will help our stores enhance their fresh-food offerings and continue to improve the quality of service provided to our customers."

As Vice President of Produce and Floral, Mr. Szczepanski will manage the produce and floral operations for all Penn Traffic supermarkets. He will supervise fruit, vegetable and flower purchasing, oversee sales and marketing plans, coordinate logistics, and determine pricing and advertising strategies.
