Penguin Young Readers Group Inks Book Deal with MGA Entertainment, Creators of Top-Selling Bratz Dolls.

Debra Dorfman, President and Publisher of Grosset & Dunlap, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers Group, has just signed a book licensing agreement with MGA Entertainment. In the deal negotiated by Dorfman and Isaac Larian, President and CEO of MGA Entertainment, Grosset & Dunlap will launch a Bratz(TM) publishing program beginning with six titles in July of 2003. The books will be distributed in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and other countries around the world.

The Bratz(TM); Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha, and Jade, are girls with a passion for fashion and they are setting the toy world on fire. In 2002 they were the #1 selling fashion doll and were given the People's Choice Toy of the Year Award for the Bratz(TM) Stylin' Salon 'N' Spa(TM). They won the same prestigious award in 2001 for their fashion doll assortment and continue to be a worldwide smash.

The Bratz(TM) book formats will include two 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 paperbacks; one with scented aromatherapy bookmarks, the other with a magnetic picture frame; and four activity books with glittery tattoo stickers. Six more books are scheduled to launch this fall.
