SAN ANTONIO -- Pendulum Resources LLC and The Humanchase have formed an agreement in anticipation of an increased need for acquisition and procurement professionals in federal government agencies. Up to 54 percent of contracting officers in acquisition and procurement will be eligible to retire in 2015, according to recent data from the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI). The loss could be severe at the Small Business Association (SBA) where 81 percent will qualify, and at least 60 percent of contracting officers could retire from the Army, Navy, Energy, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services agencies. Some of the knowledge base will be retained because fewer than anticipated will leave, but over the next eight years thousands of new employees will need to be attracted to these roles.
