Pearson receives McCloy Award.David B. Pearson, left, national director of audit quality control for Ernst & Young, received the 1996 John J. McCloy John Jay McCloy (March 31, 1895, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – March 11, 1989, Stamford, Connecticut) was a lawyer and banker who later became a prominent United States presidential advisor. Award for Outstanding Contributions to Audit Excellence from the Public Oversight Board of the American Institute of CPAs SEC practice section. The award, presented to Pearson at the AICPA's national conference on current SEC developments, in Washington, D.C., recognizes Pearson's many years of service to the accounting profession. Donald J. Kirk, a member of the POB PoB - Prisoner of Bill , made the presentation. Pearson has served on numerous Institute committees concerned with university and continuing professional education; the Uniform CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. He is a member of the Institute's board of examiners and the SEePS peer review committee--and was the committee's 1986 to 1987 chair. |
