Pearl Software Names Richard Miller President and COO.


EXTON, Pa. -- Pearl Software, Inc., a leading provider of corporate Internet monitoring and parental control software A special browser or filtering program designed to reject Web sites not suited for children. See PICS and ICRA.  announced that Richard R. Miller has been named President and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
. Miller will manage the Marketing, Sales and Corporate Development functions at Pearl Software, expanding the company's management operations in the Northern Virginia technology corridor, and directing the company's remote sales offices.

"Rich Miller is a seasoned technology leader who can drive Pearl Software to the next level of growth," said David Fertell, Pearl Software's CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . "He has built profitable companies from the ground up, managed large technology organizations, and recently co-founded a very successful managed security services company later sold to NeuStar Corporation." Miller will be responsible for product marketing, sales, corporate development and strategic partnerships. "Rich has a great history of developing partnerships with major technology companies and using those partnerships to advance sales. That is one of the key reasons we asked him to take this leadership role," continued Fertell. Miller will also join Pearl Software's Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Pearl Software, Miller co-founded Fiducianet, Inc., serving as Executive Vice President, responsible for marketing, sales and corporate management. He held various corporate development positions with Hoppmann Corporation, and SOTAS SOTAS Standoff Target Acquisition & Surveillance

In 1981, Miller was appointed by President Reagan as Public Affairs Director at the U.S. State Department's Agency for International Development (AID). Miller also served as Director of Broadcast Services for the 1990 Reagan/Bush Campaign and as a member of the President's 1980 Transition Team.
