The Pearl Qatar has commenced training drills as part of its safety and security for the mixed use development according to tradearabia.com.

With fire safety taking a prevalent stand in Qatar, the Pearl-Qatar has equipped itself with some of the latest hardware including two Mercedes Axor hook arm trucks, a HydroSub 900, Power foam and water tankers. Members of both the Civil Defence Authority and the development's master developer (UDC), took part in the exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the Civil Defence Authority Brigadier Abdullah Muhammed Al Suwaidi said, "This system is ideal for efficient fire fighting in a water-bound environment like The Pearl- Qatar." He continued to say, "In major fire emergencies, the main issue is always water flow and pressure, access, time and distance. Therefore, it is always necessary to be able to pump from open water sources and this system allows us to do that."
