Pearl Django incorporates the music of Reinhardt and Grappelli with American swing.

A National Public Radio interview in 2001 brought the group to national attention and the following year it performed at the prestigious Festival de Jazz Django Reinhardt in Samois sur Seine, just outside of Paris.

The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets are $14. Luna is at 30 E. Broadway.

Redemption Rocks! hip-hop concert

Saturday, Cozmic Pizza

C-Major, MC InCyte, Nik Fury and Feel Good Remedy make-up an almost all hip-hop show presented by Redemption Rocks!.

All of the artists are Christian and the lyrics are faith-based, but a news release for the event assures it "should be enjoyable for people of all beliefs."

Today and Saturday, WOW Hall

Floater will have two shows this weekend to help the WOW Hall reach its fundraising goals for capital improvements, better known as Benefits for the Back Lot.

Floater will donate part of the proceeds and band memorabilia for auction and raffles to help the Community Center for the Performing Arts buy the parking lot behind the WOW Hall from the city for $55,000.

Floater began in Eugene and is now based in Portland and holds the record for most sold out performances at the WOW Hall.

Opening act will be Rishloo on Friday and The Sort Ofs on Saturday.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Showtimes are 8:30 p.m.

The WOW Hall is at 291 W. Eighth Ave.

Wetlands Earth Day Celebration

Saturday, Wetlands Sports Bar and Brew Pub

Jupiter Hollow, a six-piece psychedelic fusion band, is a "noodle dancer's favorite," according to a news release.

Jupiter Hollow has been around since 1992, when it started in Springfield - Missouri, that is - and has since relocated to Eugene.

Maria Taylor is often referred to as half of the duo Azure Ray Azure Ray is an American dream pop duo, consisting of musicians Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink. The pair met at the age of 15 at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. They fronted a band called Little Red Rocket, often compared to Veruca Salt, in their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama in  and one-quarter of Saddle Creek's Now It's Overhead.

She will be 100 percent of her solo set in support of "11:11" as part of KRVM's Women in Music show with the Virginal virginal, musical instrument: see spinet.

Rooney

Well, if Everybody Else is going to be at the WOW Hall Tuesday, you should really be there, too. Wouldn't want to be left out.

Rooney and the Lashes should be grateful that Everybody Else is providing the peer pressure and warming the stage for them with its catchy songs and minimalist arrangements. Everybody Else is a trio named for a Kinks B-side.

Headlining the rock show is Rooney, a five-piece rock band from Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  with a sound compared to everything from the Beatles to the Cars. Rooney has toured with Weezer and the Strokes.

Veteran hip-hip duo Blacka- licious returns to the McDonald Theatre for an all-ages show Wednesday, touring in support of its new album, "The Craft."

Billboard magazine wasn't shy in its praise for Blacka- licious.

It "may be one of the best hip-hop acts that no one has ever heard of," the article states. " 'The Craft,' their second effort and Anti-debut, elevates their brand of art-house hip-hop to another level. It is a welcome treat for loyal fans and hip-hop heads looking for Looking for

David Grisman Quintet

. Get ready for "dawg" music. It's David Grisman's invention. Perhaps he made up a genre so he wouldn't have to wear out his slash button on his keyboard describing the sound as swing/bluegrass/Latin/jazz/gypsy/roots rock by a mandolinist/composer.

It'll be a night of acoustic music with stringed instruments center stage. Grisman has been on the music scene for more than 40 years.

Grisman has run his own company, Acoustic Disc, since 1990, which facilitated the most prolific period of his career He produced more than 50 critically acclaimed, high quality recordings, five of which were Grammy-nominated.

Advanced tickets are available through Ticketswest outlets and are $25. Day of the 8 p.m. show tickets are $28.
