Peanut Butter and Oats Granola Snack Cereals, nuts, seeds, dried fruits make a snack to munch at home or on a hike. 2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk 1/2 cup each shredded unsweetened coconut, shelled raw sunflower seed, regular wheat germ, roasted unsalted peanuts, sesame seed, raisins, and chopped dried apricots 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2/3 cup chunk-style peanut butter 1/2 cup salad oil 1/4 cup honey

In a rimmed 12- by 15-inch baking pan, mix oats, dry milk, coconut, sunflower seed, wheat germ, peanuts, sesame seed, raisins, and apricots.

In a 1- to 2-quart pan over medium-high heat, stir sugar, peanut butter, oil, and honey until boiling. Pour over oat mixture; stir with a fork to blend. Bake, uncovered, in a 300[deg.] oven, stirring every 10 minutes until mixture is lightly browned, about 45 minutes. Remove from oven; press down with a wide spatula so mixture will hold together like a cooky; let cool. Break granola into bite-size chunks. Serve, or store airtight up to 1 week. Makes about 6 cups.
