The International Olympic Committee (French: Comité International Olympique) is an organization based in Lausanne, Switzerland, created by Pierre de Coubertin and Demetrios Vikelas on June 23
, sponsored the Peace Flag Project. Students from around the world submitted their vision of a world peace flag. The winning entry was selected to become an official UN Stamp representing the International Day of Peace.

First Place

The sun and the earth are interwined, they do not function one without the other. The sun represents optimism and positive energy.

Second Place

All the world is like a big house. Children and adults of various kind of skin live there, their house is a safe place and a feeling that someone loves them and waits for them with open arms.

Kristyna Zackova, 12 years old, Czech Republic Czech Republic, Czech Česká Republika (2005 est. pop. 10,241,000), republic, 29,677 sq mi (78,864 sq km), central Europe. It is bordered by Slovakia on the east, Austria on the south, Germany on the west, and Poland on the north.
