, Manager, IS Projects Management Office of BPA, began the chartering process, engaging the support and participation of other Microsoft Project users in the greater Portland area, including an existing grassroots user group. The effort resulted in a surge in MPUG-Global membership in the area, as participants in that grassroots group and other local project managers recognized the benefits of belonging to the worldwide MPUG MPUG Microsoft Project Users Group  community.

"Our colleagues at Pcubed suggested that we look into MPUG-Global," Mr. Weaver said. "They said that MPUG would give vital support to the Microsoft Project users within our organization. We at BPA realized that there are many individuals and organizations in this area that would also benefit from a forum to share expertise, exchange knowledge, and network, so we decided we had to start the Portland-Cascade Chapter. The response has been overwhelming, and we haven't even launched yet."

Registration and refreshments start at 5:30 PM, and the program runs from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. To reserve a seat, please register at http://msevents.microsoft.com/events/USA/ or email John Weaver, jwweaver@bpa.gov. Visit www.mpug.org for more information and directions.
