AT&T Inc., formerly SBC (1) (SBC Communications Inc., San Antonio, TX, www.sbc.com) A large, national telecommunications company that grew from a multitude of local and regional companies, including Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell, into a single, unified brand by 2002.  Communications Inc., announced that it has teamed up with the National Arbor Day Foundation The National Arbor Day Foundation is the world's oldest and largest tree-planting organization.[1] Its million members plant millions of trees every year. New members receive 10 free trees.  for a "paperless" campaign that will eliminate paper usage and plant trees. For every residential and small business phone customer that switches from a paper bill to the online version, AT&T will donate $1 to the foundation to plant a tree in a national forest.

The promotion extends through March 31, with customers encouraged to participate for sweepstakes prizes, including a 2006 Toyota Prius The Toyota Prius is a hybrid electric vehicle developed and manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation, and one of the first such vehicles to be mass-produced and marketed. The Prius first went on sale in Japan in 1997, and worldwide in 2001.  hybrid car, gift cards to The Home Depot and trips to various resorts nationwide.

From July to November of 2005, the company helped plant nearly a quarter of a million trees, which the National Arbor Day Foundation says will absorb more than 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide carbon dioxide, chemical compound, CO2, a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that is about one and one-half times as dense as air under ordinary conditions of temperature and pressure.  per year.
