Pay for Performance.

Improving student performance in the Perrysburg Village Schools has meant fatter paychecks for the district's 255 teachers and administrators.

Under a contractual incentive plan, certificated employees receive an additional $25 in their base pay for every percentage point increase above a 70 percent success rate on the district's composite score of the four state proficiency exams required of each Ohio student.

That means this year's 80 percent passing rate will bring an additional $175 into the educators' paychecks. Last year, they each received $75 in incentive pay.
