Paxson Communications expands inTV Network and announces plans to acquire Jacksonville radio station.

 Communications Corp. announced Thursday its plans to acquire from InterMart Broadcasting First Coast Inc., WPVJ 106.5-FM serving Jacksonville, Fla. This transaction will allow Paxson to expand its super-duopoly holdings in Jacksonville to six radio stations including four FM stations and two AM stations.

Commenting on the announced acquisitions, Chairman Lowell "Bud" Paxson said, "These acquisitions allow the company to continue its dual strategy of rapidly expanding the inTV Network into every major US television market and increasing the Paxson radio group's presence in every major Florida market."

After completing these and other previously announced acquisitions, Paxson's inTV Network will include 44 owned, operated or affiliated television stations in markets reaching over 49.7 million television households. Paxson's radio group will operate 39 radio stations including 35 in the state of Florida as well as six radio networks and 455 billboard faces throughout Florida. In addition, Paxson also operates two network-affiliated television stations in West Palm Beach. -0-
