Paxson Communications acquires West Palm Beach site.


WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1996--Paxson Communications Corp. (ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) A relational DBMS from Sybase that runs on Windows NT/2000, Linux and a variety of Unix platforms. ASE is a comprehensive and robust data management product with a long history dating back to the late 1980s. :PXN) announced Tuesday Tuesday: see week.  that it has acquired a 19 acre tract of land from the city of West Palm Beach.

West Palm Beach Mayor Nancy Graham said: "Paxson Communications Corporation's moving to West Palm Beach has been very exciting. We are working to make sure this major investment by Paxson will be a profitable one for the company."

Commenting on the announced acquisitions, Chairman Lowell "Bud" Paxson said: "We are delighted to continue our partnership with the city of West Palm Beach. This partnership will allow Paxson to further leverage both its management capabilities and the strength of its 35-station broadcast television distribution network, inTV. We expect to employ a greater number of persons when this facility comes on line in 1997."

After completing these and other previously announced acquisitions, Paxson holdings will include 35 owned, operated or affiliated television stations of the Infomall Television Network, the operation of two network-affiliated television stations, 34 radio stations including 30 in the state of Florida, six radio networks and the operation of 333 billboard locations throughout Florida.
