 market, called "Nutraceuticals Japan 2003: Industry Insights," has been released by Paul Yamaguchi &Associates, Inc. Tarrytown, NY. The 114-page report covers both the functional food and nutritional supplement markets. The report states that last year the functional food industry was up 12.5% from 2001 to $12.7 billion in 2002 and the nutritional supplement industry was up 4% from 2001 to $8.6 billion in 2002. Included in the report is information about both government approved health claim functional foods, FOSHU FOSHU Foods for Specified Health Use (Japan)  (Food for Specified Health Use) and non-health claim functional foods.
