Patient Care Technology Systems Hosts Symposium Event on Patient Safety at Annual Pennsylvania ACEP EDIS Conference.

Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS) today announced that it is hosting "The Future of EDIS - Technology Integration for Patient Safety" Symposium (TIPSS) at the Pennsylvania American College of Emergency Physician (ACEP)'s National Symposium on Emergency Department Information Systems. The event will be held on Monday, Dec. 6, in the Marquette Room of the Chicago Hilton and runs from 6:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. PCTS will be exhibiting at the National Symposium (held Dec. 5-8) at the hotel in exhibit #215.

The TIPSS lecture event will cover key topics for improving patient safety. Included will be a focus on the identification of common areas for medical errors in the emergency department. Speakers will also discuss ways that an integrated ED information system can reduce the risk of medical errors through real-time knowledge of patient status, clinical decision support with mobility access and retrospective analysis.

Speakers include:

Neil Martin, M.D. -- a professor and chief physician for the Division of Neurosurgery at UCLA. Dr. Martin is president and chief medical officer of Global Care Quest (www.gcq.com).

Graham Billingham, M.D., FACEP -- a diplomat with the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a frequent lecturer of risk management, patient safety, malpractice, and information systems topics.
