PatchLink.com Releases Gravitix v2.0 Enterprise Edition.Business Editors/High-Tech Writers SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 2000 PatchLink.com Corp. Monday announced that it will release its Gravitix(TM) v2.0 Enterprise Edition in April. The latest version will be used in concert with the award-winning, PatchLink.com "IT Super Site" for the automation of patch analysis and distribution. The upgrade is capable of updating all NetWare servers (3.x. 4.x and 5.x) across a complete enterprise LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used. or WAN. The application is available as both a stand-alone solution, or as part of WebConsole(R) Management Software. Gravitix is a Web-based NetWare Loadable Module See NLM. (NLM) tool that will allow network administrators to automatically connect to a central Web site to download and apply the latest NLM updates and patches to all NetWare file servers on a LAN. Administrators can use any Web browser to access the Gravitix interface and configure, view reports and choose files to update. Gravitix will also allow administrators to manage the NetWare configuration files (NCF) and update files on the NetWare DOS partition. Gravitix will soon be capable of synchronizing files across, NT, UNIX UNIX Operating system for digital computers, developed by Ken Thompson of Bell Laboratories in 1969. It was initially designed for a single user (the name was a pun on the earlier operating system Multics). The latest version also supports both pull and push software distribution models. The software also contains alerting mechanisms along with a scheduler.
