Past Auxiliary Commander Janet W. Bennett dies.Janet W. Bennett, 71, who served as Auxiliary National Commander for the 2003-04 membership year, passed away at her Reno, Nev., home on Aug. 3, following a long battle with cancer. As assistant state's attorney (1973–76) and state's attorney (1976–93) for Dade Co., Fla. worked as a substance abuse counselor and supervisor. She retired in 1996, and immediately became more active in the Auxiliary. Janet held all offices and served on various committees in Unit 7. She was elected to all state Department offices, including Auxiliary State Department of Nevada Commander for 1988-1989.
