Parts manual perplexity.


Baffled by mismatching Mismatching is the term given to the alleged negative effect that affirmative action has when it places a student into a college that is allegedly too diffucult for her. For example, according to the theory, in the absence of affirmative action, a student will be admitted to a college  part numbers in your tank's parts manual? Before you start pulling hair, take a look in the back of the manual for the supplemental cross-reference cross-ref·er·ence

During a routine TM change, the cross-reference index is not updated. Instead, a supplemental cross-reference is added to the end of the index. The supplemental cross-reference index updates obsolete OBSOLETE. This term is applied to those laws which have lost their efficacy, without being repealed,

When the TM undergoes a revision, the cross-reference index is updated and the supplemental index goes away.

So, if you can't find the right part, look for the supplemental cross-reference index. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration--and the cost of a hair transplant transplant
