Parts department performance review - how are dealers doing?

While Johnny Walker talks in the accompanying article about the first steps a dealership must take to get up to a competitive level in the aftermarket, I&T presents this brief review of parts-related data from the National Farm & Power Equipment Dealers Assn. Cost of Doing Business study. We covered the five most recent years for which information is available--1978 through 1982. In one area, parts turnover, we went back nine years to show what has happened through most of a decade. Results of NFPEDA's 1983 study will be available from dealer associations in a few months.
