Partnership opens doors to the public.

THE Kirklees Kirklees is a metropolitan borough of West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 390,000 and includes the settlements of Batley, Birstall, Cleckheaton, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Marsden, Meltham, Mirfield and Slaithwaite.  Environment Partnership is to hold its annual general meeting on Saturday, and the public are invited to attend to find out more about its work.

The meeting will take place at the National Children's Centre, Brian Jackson Brian Jackson is the name of:
  • Brian Jackson (cricketer), a former cricketer for Derbyshire
  • Brian Jackson (footballer), a professional footballer during the 1950s
  • Brian Jackson (keyboardist), a musician known mostly for his work in the 1970's with Gil Scott-Heron
 House, New North Parade North Parade Avenue (or North Parade) is a short shopping street in north Oxford, England. It runs between Winchester Road to the west and Banbury Road to the east. It is the only shopping street in North Oxford between the city centre to the south and Summertown to the , Huddersfield, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.

The partnership will also be looking at the activities of com-munities who are trying to address issues such as declining resources and climate change.

At the meeting the Kirklees Climate Change Action Plan cur-rentlv in develooment. will be introduced.

The plan aims to reduce carbon emissions in Kirklees and to identify ways for coping with the effects of climate change.

The Environment Partnership was formed in 2002 and now has membership representing over 60 public, private and voluntary bodies and provides an independent voice for the environment in Kirklees.

It aims to support and enable a coordinated approach to environmental projects across Kirklees and to promote environmental education and training, sharing good practice.
