PartitionMagic(R) 3.04 Includes New MagicMover(TM) UtilityOREM, Utah, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- A new utility from PowerQuest(R) Corporation is shipping with the latest version of the company's flagship product, PartitionMagic(R). Version 3.04 of PartitionMagic includes MagicMover(TM), a utility to help move applications from one partition to another.MagicMover replaces MicroHelp's UnInstaller(TM) Mover utility, included in earlier versions of PartitionMagic. PartitionMagic allows computer users to create, resize, and move hard-disk partitions on the fly, without destroying data. PowerQuest's new MagicMover will provide the same functionality as UnInstaller Mover, permitting users to move applications from one partition to another, along with all their related files and operating systems settings. An added benefit to incorporating MagicMover with PartitionMagic 3.04 is the enhanced support users may now receive from PowerQuest. "In the past, users had to contact MicroHelp for Uninstaller Mover support," says Steve Fairbanks, product marketing manager for PowerQuest. "PowerQuest developed an application mover utility to ensure that our customers are fully supported and working with a utility engineered with PartitionMagic in mind." For those using earlier versions of PartitionMagic 3.x, MagicMover is offered as a free alternative to MicroHelp's UnInstaller Mover, and may be downloaded from PowerQuest's Web site at http://www.powerquest.com. Among many other enhancements, PartitionMagic 3.04 will offer a new install program with the following improvements: an add/remove feature that can be accessed from the program menu for easy install/uninstall of PartitionMagic; system and user information displayed for quick user reference; the ability to create floppy disk sets of PartitionMagic and MagicMover from the CD-ROM; and the option to create rescue disks. PartitionMagic 3.04 has been shipping for a month and should now be available on most retail shelves. The estimated street price for version 3.04 will remain at $69.
