Particles 2005: surface modification in particles technology conference to be held August 13-16.Sponsored by the Division of Colloid colloid (kŏl`oid) [Gr.,=gluelike], a mixture in which one substance is divided into minute particles (called colloidal particles) and dispersed throughout a second substance. and Surface Chemistry of the American Chemical Society The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a learned society (professional association) based in the United States that supports scientific inquiry in the field of chemistry. Founded in 1876 at New York University, the ACS currently has over 160,000 members at all degree-levels and in , Washington, D.C., "Particles 2005: Surface Modification in Particle Technology" will be held at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel The following hotels are named the Drake Hotel:
Particles 2005 is an international conference designed to examine the science, technology, and business aspects of particle surface modification in different application areas including chemical and drug delivery, chemical and biochemical diagnostics, nano and micro encapsulation (1) In object technology, the creation of self-contained modules that contain both the data and the processing. See object-oriented programming. (2) The transmission of one network protocol within another. for stabilization, modification, and controlled release, thin and nanostructured film formation, and advanced materials fabrication fabrication (fab´rikā´sh n the construction or making of a restoration. . The conference is intended for practicing scientists and engineers, managers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, and embraces the theme "surface modification for added value and advanced features and material properties." The conference will include approximately 30 invited paper presentations and two poster sessions consisting of contributed papers. Manuscripts of both the invited and contributed papers will be peer-reviewed and published as the conference proceedings. Through July 12, registration costs $975 for industrial attendees, $675 for academic or government attendees, $400 for full-time students presenting posters, and $300 for a person accompanying an attendee. From July 13 through August 9, registration costs $1075 for industrial attendees, $775 for academic or government attendees, $400 for full-time students presenting posters, and $350 for a person accompanying an attendee. Onsite registration is $1275. In addition, a series of one-day short courses will be presented on Friday and Saturday, August 12-13, preceding the start of the conference. The short course titles are as follows: "Particle Characterization," "Synthesis of Particle-Based Materials," "Basics of Particle Surface Modification," "Controlled Crystallization Crystallization The formation of a solid from a solution, melt, vapor, or a different solid phase. Crystallization from solution is an important industrial operation because of the large number of materials marketed as crystalline particles. ," "Introduction to Comminution comminution (k For additional information, visit http://nanoparticles.org/Particles2005/. "Particles 2006: Medical/Biochemical Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, and Drug Delivery Applications of Particle Technology" is scheduled for May 13-16, 2006 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Orlando, FL. The event will be co-sponsored by The Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry of the American Chemical Society and the European Association of Pharma Biotechnology. |
