The PTDFC went through a rigorous 3 1/2-day WISHA audit demonstrating that its safety programs and practices reached the highest level of excellence in workplace health and safety. The WISHA team also reviewed the complex's accident rates that are 89% below the national average for their industry. The PTDFC is one of only 1,351 companies in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , and one of only 23 in the state of Washington to achieve VPP Star Status. This is out of 7.2 million worksites overseen by OSHA nationwide.
