Parlay Group Opens 2002 Event with New Specification; Hong Kong Meeting Highlights New Service and New Revenue Demonstrations.

The Parlay Group announced today an expanded agenda for its sixth open member meeting in Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov. , February 5 - 7, 2002. Registered attendance is more than 30% greater than the last Parlay meeting held in Munich, Germany, September 2001. This 3-day event will provide an opportunity for members and interested parties to view presentations and demonstrations of the Parlay Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Themed: "New Services, New Business, New Revenues," Parlay Members will demonstrate how to create new business revenues using the Parlay APIs. A full day of education about Parlay including "Hands-on Building Applications with Parlay" will be presented.

This meeting will introduce Parlay's new API New API (also referred to as NAPI) is an interface to use interrupt mitigation techniques for networking devices in the Linux kernel. The Parlay Group is an open, multi-vendor, non-profit forum organized to create open, technology independent Application Programming Interface (API) specifications that enable network operators, independent software vendors and service providers to write applications across multiple networks and multiple network technologies. Parlay's activities are intended to define, establish and support a common specification for industry standard APIs, while making appropriate submissions to established agencies and bodies to ratify these specifications as international standards.
