This was the first collaboration between prolific Western director and Academy Award(R)-nominee(1) Budd Boetticher and Randolph Scott ("Go West Young Man"), one of Hollywood's most celebrated leading men. Produced by John Wayne, "SEVEN MEN FROM NOW" showcases outstanding performances from an all-star cast including Academy Award-winner(2) Lee Marvin ("Cat Ballou") and screen goddess Gail Russell ("El Paso"). This never-before-available Special Collector's Edition DVD features insightful commentary by film historian and author, Jim Kitses and exclusive behind-the-scenes featurettes. The DVD offers fascinating profiles on some of the film's illustrious cast including the troubled silver-screen beauty, Gail Russell and legendary Budd Boetticher with comments from Clint Eastwood, Quentin Tarantino, director/producer Taylor Hackford, director/actor Peter Bogdanovich and others.

The remarkable restoration process to bring "SEVEN MEN FROM NOW" back to its powerful original glory was initiated in 1999 by Michael Wayne, who presided over Batjac for 42 years. Michael worked with Bob Gitt of UCLA Film Archives for the initial restoration in 1999. Gretchen Wayne, wife of the late Michael Wayne and president of Batjac, polished the restoration using today's digital technology in spring 2005.

Synopsis:

A former sheriff (Randolph Scott), haunted by the loss of his wife in a Wells Fargo robbery, hunts for the seven men responsible for her death. Along the way, he assists a couple traveling west from Kansas City to California and is forced to deal with another former outlaw (Lee Marvin) he had once sent to prison.
