Parametric Technology Corporation Announces the Windchill Enterprise Product Information Management Family.

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 1998--Parametric Technology Corporation (NASDAQ:PMTC), developer of the Pro/ENGINEER(R) family of software tools used to automate mechanical product development, announced yesterday at the CIMdata PDM '98 conference its new family of Windchill(tm) enterprise information technology products. First customer shipments are expected in June 1998.

PTC's new Windchill product family includes: Windchill Foundation, an information framework capable of addressing a variety of information management problems with a single consistent architecture; Windchill Document Manager, an enterprise document management application offering that includes vaulting, workflow, and life-cycle management capabilities; Windchill Configuration Manager, including applications that address product structure, alternate views, and change management; and Windchill Information Modeler, an information modeling and development environment.

By unifying the power of enterprise information management technology with a native Web architecture, the Windchill product family represents a significantly faster and more effective means to achieve mission-critical enterprise PDM objectives. The new Windchill products coexist with, and add value to, existing PTC CAD data management offerings such as Pro/INTRALINK(tm) and Optegra(R), and are inherently designed to work in heterogeneous environments.
