MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- ParagonDx, a recent spin out from Gentris Corporation, will be providing genetic testing of attendees of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development Tech 07 conference. This will be the first time any company in the molecular or pharmacogenomic diagnostic space will be demonstrating the ability to do testing like this in a conference environment.

The purpose of the screening will be to give individuals insight into their sensitivity to certain classes of medications, including warfarin warfarin (wôr`fərĭn), anticoagulant used to treat blood clots. In large doses it causes bleeding. Warfarin, mixed with bait, is used in rodent control.

(i.e. Coumadin[R]). This will show the speed of the company's science and testing kits by delivering genetic testing results in hours rather than 7-10 days, which is the current industry norm. The test will be done with a saliva saliva

"Our vision from the beginning was to develop diagnostic kits that provide physicians the best, easiest and most accurate information to aid their decision making," stated ParagonDx CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. . "This demonstration proves we can deliver critical information in hours rather than days. Using saliva makes it much easier to administer the test. This test shows we making useful genetic tests available to the average person

There will be a limited number of tests available during the conference, between 25-75 total, to the attendee population. Attendees will be counseled and be required to sign consent forms. The test has an approximate $500 value if ordered by a physician.
