With Paradyne's ADSL2+ modems, DELT provides bidirectional testing on lines, isolating sources of line interference in order to greatly reduce the time and costs associated with loop conditioning and broadband troubleshooting.

SELT and DELT are emerging as the standards for loop qualification and diagnostics, aiding in the elimination of costly external test equipment. By partnering with Broadcom, which offers integrated SELT and DELT capabilities in its ADSL2+ chipset, Paradyne provides cutting-edge test performance.

"Paradyne is a valued partner to Broadcom as the industry shifts toward ADSL2+. Our integrated SELT and DELT capabilities in Paradyne's equipment address the need for cost-effective and high-performance loop qualification, troubleshooting and maintenance," said John O'Neill, Broadcom's senior director of broadband carrier access products. "Using dedicated equipment for loop qualifications is expensive and only provides part of the solution. By integrating both SELT and DELT into their BLC and DSLAM products, Paradyne can provide a complete test suite to support equipment deployments throughout their life cycle."

SELT and DELT provide pre and post turn-up loop diagnostics, providing operators with a greater sense of confidence in the data they have regarding their infrastructure.

"Reducing operating costs has become an imperative for carriers today in an increasingly competitive environment," said Ken Hood, vice president of marketing and product management, Paradyne. "Paradyne's integrated loop test and diagnostic capability in our BLCs and DSLAMs is another arrow in the quiver for wireline carriers to improve their provisioning and subscription process for ADSL2+ services."

The integrated test capability is part of Paradyne's OpIQ platform, which focuses on the four pillars of security, management, interoperability assurance, and service support. More on OpIQ is available online at http://www.paradyne.com/solutions/opiq/
