If you are looking for an exclusive resort in the Indian Ocean with a stunning 18 hole championship golf course, flanked by Le Morne Mountain one side and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean on the other, then a stay at the Paradis Hotel and Golf Resort will be the perfect golf holiday for you.

Part of the Beachcomber Hotel Group, the Paradis was one of the first hotels on the island of Mauritius and therefore had one of the best locations bagged before many others were even considered. The recently refurbished resort offers a chic sporting atmosphere with exquisite restaurants and superb accommodation.

The first tee at Paradis Golf Club is just 20 meters from the hotel reception. The course itself was designed by David Dutton, and is 5899m par 72. It runs along the coast below the base of the stunning Le Morne Mountain, with 5 holes diving over the Indian Ocean! They offer twice weekly group lessons, with a weekly competition which is a perfect chance to meet fellow golfers!

For guests at the Paradis the hotel is able to offer a number of excellent 5 day golf packages, with all the golf at the hotel. If you are a keen golfer they are great value. For just over ?200 you will get unlimited green tees for 5 days, 2 complimentary golf clinics by the club pro, one golf massage, a golf buggy and club hire for 5 days if required. There is also a couple?s golf package if required. If you are looking to improve your game, the academy includes excellent facilities including video swing analysis.

While staying at Paradis it would be a shame not to experience other courses on the island. A Peter Matkovitch designed 6498m par 72 course is available at the Golf Du Chateau. The resort is located on the south coast of Mauritius, just around the corner from Paradis. The 18 hole course has 5 different tee options on each of the holes, as well as a double sided driving range which is open from 07h00 to 17h00 daily. The usual putting green, chipping facilities, pro shop, locker rooms and caddies are all available. The caddies are worth pre booking though! The beautiful bar and restaurant is also open between 07h00 and 19h00.

The other course which is close by is the Tamarina Golf Estate, also a par 72 course designed by Rodney Wright at 6780m. Carved into the rugged south-west savannah land coast of Mauritius, between mountain and sea, Tamarina Golf Estate and Beach Club is the first residential golf estate on the island. Overlooking the crisp blue waters of Tamarin Bay, crossed by the beautiful Black River gorges and Rempart River, the Estate stretches over 250 hectares of what was once a deer hunting chass?, at the foot of towering Rempart Mountain. The course undulates over 43 hectares of rugged savannah framed with mature trees and the Rempart River. Golfers will love the contrast between the rough surroundings and the smoothness of the rolling greens, and wide fairways which all add to the experience of the Tamarina Golf Course. The course is laid out with standard four par 3?s, and four par 5?s with remaining holes as par 4?s. Each hole again offers 5 teeing options, catering for all levels of golfers.

Beachcomber Tours are able to book your stay at the Paradis Hotel and Golf Resort in Mauritius and organize flights and transfers, and even some tee times if required.
