Paradigm Medical's Upgraded LD400 FT Cuts Diagnostic Time for Autoperimetry by over 40%.

SALT LAKE CITY -- Paradigm Medical Industries, Inc. (OTCBB:PMED) (OTCBB:PMEDW) announced today the introduction of its upgraded LD400 FT, or Fast Threshold Autoperimeter (FTA). The instrument is used as a pre-screen in the early detection of glaucoma, cataract, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the three leading causes of eye disease and blindness.

"The FTA will reduce the time needed by optometrists and ophthalmologists conducting autoperimetry tests by more than 40%," said Paradigm Medical's Chief Executive Officer, John Yoon. "The procedure currently takes more than 15 minutes."

Traditional methods of perimetry use an enclosed fixture where the patient responds to visual stimuli at different locations and intensities. This enables determination of the patient's field of vision. By significantly increasing the speed of the test, not only does the health care professional gain but also the patient is much less likely to abandon the test out of frustration.
