Canoga Park/West Hills

On June 5 the Canoga Owensmouth Historical Society held dedicated an historical plaque at the original 1931 Canoga Park Fire Station #72. That building now houses a Canoga Park Community Center and Chamber offices.

This is the first in a series of plaques that will be dedicated throughout the Canoga Park Historical Area.

A "Let's Do Lunch" program on June 12 will feature guest speaker and Chamber member Oliver Vasquez of Rubin & Vasquez, LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol . Oliver will discuss the personal rights of employees and patrons, the Unruh Civil Rights Act and the American Disabilities Act. The meeting will be at the Chamber office at 7248 Owensmouth and lunch will be catered by Taj Indian Restaurant. Chatsworth/Porter Ranch

The CPRCC is proud to announce an important transaction involving three of its members. Realtor Monique Bryher of Keller Williams Keller Williams (also known as K-Dub or just Keller) (Born February 4, 1970) is an American singer from Fredericksburg, Virginia who began performing in the early 1990’s.  discovered a three-acre parcel of land just below Stoney Point Stoney Point may refer to:

 that she thought would be perfect for Ride On Therapeutic. Bryan McQueeney, Ride On's executive director, agreed and retained Monique to assist Ride On in acquiring the property. Monique called Phyllis Barber, branch manager of First Federal Bank in Chatsworth and was instrumental in getting Ride On's loan funded. Ride On now owns the land at 10860 Topanga Canyon Blvd. and they received 5 percent of Monique's commission as a donation for using her services.

On June 19, the RBCCSFV will celebrate Juneteenth at the Woodland Hills Hilton Hotel. by holding "A Celebration of Freedom" and luncheon to commemorate the Signing of the Emancipation Proclamation Emancipation Proclamation, in U.S. history, the executive order abolishing slavery in the Confederate States of America. The 6th annual Spirit of Community Awards Celebration took place June 5 at the Los Robles Robles is a common surname in the Spanish language meaning oaks, and may refer to:

  • Aurora Robles (born 1980), Mexican fashion model

Jey Wagner, president of Dale Carnegie Training, will speak at the Chamber's networking breakfast June 13. Wagner will demonstrate how to raise your human relations IQ from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Los Robles Greens Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road.

Universal City-North Hollywood

The June 19 after-work mixer will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sportsmen's Lodge Hotel, 12825 Ventura Blvd. in Studio City. On June 24, the Chamber will have its monthly networking breakfast in the same location, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Winnetka

Four years ago, the Winnetka Community Foundation was started by the Winnetka Chamber. Each year the Foundation sends under-privileged but deserving kids to Cali-Camp, an upscale summer day camp in Topanga.

It has also sponsored boys at Scout Camp who could not otherwise have afforded it. The Foundation, supported by the Chamber's annual Oktoberfest fundraiser, has a long list of contributions made to local worthwhile causes.
