Paprican, IPEF to build research partnership.

PAPRICAN PAPRICAN Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada , IPEF TO BUILD RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP. Paprican, Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada (Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada) and IPEF (Institute of Forest Research and Studies of Brazil) have signed a memorandum of understanding A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a legal document describing a bilateral or multilateral agreement between parties. It expresses a convergence of will between the parties, indicating an intended common line of action and may not imply a legal commitment.  (MOU) to build a partnership in pulp and paper research. The MOU sets out the framework for cooperation between Paprican and IPEF to establish a pre-competitive research consortium that serves the Brazilian pulp and paper industry The global pulp and paper industry is dominated by North American (United States, Canada), northern European (Finland, Sweden) and East Asian countries (such as Japan). Australasia and Latin America also have significant pulp and paper industries. .

Both companies expect that the commercialization of this new technology, in testing for the past five years, will reduce papermaking costs.
