PaperPak embarked on the path of becoming a comprehensive manufacturing firm in 1974, when William G. "Griff' Hopkins succeeded his father as president. Hopkins' vision led him to purchase tissue manufacturing equipment and machines for combining tissue, plastic film and nonwovens, which enabled PaperPak to begin manufacturing several new products.

The company's evolution into a national supplier of healthcare and food packaging products began in 1989, when PaperPak built a production and distribution facility in Washington, Georgia Washington (originally called Heard's Fort) is a city in Wilkes County, Georgia, United States. A few years later, the company launched the second phase of its expansion strategy with the redevelopment of its California plant and the introduction of adult brief product lines, establishing PaperPak as a full-line supplier of adult incontinence products.

In 1998, PaperPak began to turn its attention to establishing itself as a global leader through acquisition growth and a highly defined healthcare strategy. In July 1999, PaperPak announced the acquisition of Wyant Health Care, a manufacturer of adult incontinence products with two manufacturing facilities located in New Jersey and California.

Following closely on the heels of the Wyant Health Care acquisition was the recent acquisition of the Procter and Gamble Company's North American North American
