Pannaway Technologies Closes Successful Q1 05.


PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Quarter Highlighted by New Customer Adoption, Expansion into New Markets, Increased Interest in Primary Line VoIP and Addition to Leadership Team

Pannaway Technologies, Inc., designers and developers of converged IP Ethernet broadband voice, video and data platforms, today announced continued company success and momentum with the close of Q1 2005. Highlights from Pannaway's successful Q1 include new US-based ILEC (Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier) A traditional local telephone company such as one of the Regional Bell companies (RBOCs). Contrast with CLEC. See ELEC and TELRIC.  and CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) An organization offering local telephone service that is not one of the traditional telephone companies. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 allowed competition to the incumbent telcos (ILECs), enabling new companies (CLECs)  customer wins, expansion into new markets, scheduled International deployments and the strategic hire of a new vice president of business development. Pannaway concluded Q1 with 34 total US-based deployments, including contracted customers and new customer trials. New customers include Coleman County Telecommunications Cooperative, Allendale Communications, Nsight Telservices, Westphalia Broadband, Inc. and Converged Communications. Additionally, Pannaway continues discussions around a Series D round of funding between $10 million and $20 million, which will likely close in Q2 2005.

Carpenter comes to Pannaway after five years as an executive officer of Tut Systems, in roles spanning vice president of partner development, vice president of marketing and vice president of product development and marketing.
