 and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), agency of the U.S. Public Health Service since 1973, with headquarters in Atlanta; it was established in 1946 as the Communicable Disease Center.  have released a checklist to help long-term care facilities prepare for a possible pandemic flu. The American Health Care Association The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is non-profit federation of affiliated state health organizations, together representing more than 10,000 non-profit and for-profit assisted living, nursing facility, developmentally-disabled, and subacute care providers that care for  (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) helped to develop the checklist, and AHCA/NCAL members provided critical input and feedback.
