Panasonic Introduces Next Generation of WORKiO MFPs.

SECAUCUS, N.J. -- New DP-2330 and DP-3030 Models Offer Extended Networking Capabilities, Single-Source Training and Panasonic Document-Routing Software; Copy and Print Up to 23 and 30 ppm, Respectively.

Panasonic's new series of MFPs (multifunction product) offer powerful networking capabilities in a versatile document-solutions package specifically designed to meet the high-volume requirements of workgroups, while delivering a level of performance usually found in departmental MFPs.

The DP-2330 and DP-3030 employ the same operational interface for copying, printing, scanning, faxing and emailing as Panasonic's faster, high-volume MFPs, making them especially user friendly. These latest additions to Panasonic's award-winning line of MFPs use the same network management tools as the other models in the WORKiO(R) family, an important consideration for IT managers looking to reduce the volume of help desk calls. Both new models are packed with features and functionality uncommon in workgroup MFPs, including:

--Inverting automatic document feeder In multifunction or all-in-one printers, fax machines, photocopiers and scanners, Automatic Document Feeder or ADF is a feature which takes several pages and feeds the paper one page at a time into the scanner, allowing the user to scan (and thereby copy, print, or fax)

--1,150 sheets of online paper supply

--Windows(R) printing system

--Panasonic document management software

--Enhanced graphical user interface graphical user interface (GUI)

Computer display format that allows the user to select commands, call up files, start programs, and do other routine tasks by using a mouse to point to pictorial symbols (icons) or lists of menu choices on the screen as opposed to having to

Extended Networking

The DP-2330 and DP-3030's extended networking capabilities include IPX/SPX See IPX.  protocol support, allowing the MFPs to be connected to Novell-based networks. In addition, the new WORKiO models can support a standard TCP/IP port Another name for an LPR/LPD port. Single-Source Training

The WORKiO DP-2330 and DP-3030 feature a print driver that provides a common user experience across most WORKiO MFPs and reduces the learning curve for these digital-imaging systems. Once trained on the DP-2330 or DP-3030, users can operate any member of the WORKiO family in the 15 to 60 ppm range.

Latest Document-Routing Software

The DP-2330 and DP-3030 come with the latest version of Panasonic's document-routing software, Panasonic Document Distribution System (DDS (1) (Digital Data Storage) See DAT.

Double Exposure

Healthcare facilities; insurance companies; educational institutions; and any other type of business that routinely copy ID cards, driver's licenses or insurance cards can benefit from the DP-2330 and DP-3030's double exposure feature, which allows both sides of a document to be copied onto the same side of a sheet of paper. And when used with Panasonic's Digital Skyshot, those vexing black borders that generally appear when copying small documents with the platen cover up are eliminated.

Expanded Security

Panasonic has enhanced the security features of the DP-2330 and DP-3030 for all functions associated with possible network vulnerabilities. For example, both models allow IT departments to specify port numbers used for common communication functionality. The series also features a new process for data deletion when the hard disk drive option is installed. The user can choose between medium and high security settings.

Robert Curci, Panasonic Digital Document Company Senior Product Specialist, years of product excellence and technology refinement led to the new digital systems that are ideally suited for today's networked business environment. "The DP-2330 and DP-3030 provide consistent quality up to 23 and 30 pages per minute," says Curci. "Both models offer many of the same benefits as our higher-end, feature-rich WORKiO MFPs. These include a high degree of document management productivity, low ownership cost and, of course, ease of use."

The DP-2320 and DP-3030 carry MSRPs(1) of $6,855.00 and $7,995.00, respectively.
