Palmetto Brick Company Announces Strong Quarterly Growth.

CHERAW, S.C. -- Palmetto Brick Company today announces that the firm's sales in dollars increased 6.83 percent for the quarter that ended December 31, 2005. The brick manufacturer's sales to the residential sector were 55 percent of the company's sales, with commercial brick amounting to 45 percent.

"The construction industry is doing very well right now, and as part of that growth our sales have increased," said Andy Rogers, vice president of marketing, Palmetto Brick Company. "We're pleased with our performance last quarter, and all indications are that the first quarter of 2005 will also be just as if not more successful."

Palmetto Brick, which is one of last American-owned and operated brick manufacturers in the U.S., recently announced plans to expand its facilities in Cheraw. Once the new plant is up and running, the company plans to balance its residential and commercial sales.

Contracts for Palmetto Brick during the last quarter of its fiscal year included supplying brick for the Belmont River Club in Chicago, the Rollins Square project in Boston, and the Arnold School of Business at the University of South Carolina. The brick company, which ships to 32 U.S. States and Canada, produces roughly 100 million brick per year, employs 130 people, and operates several branch locations.
