Pall Corporation Begins Exclusive Sale and Distribution of the Separel Degasification Module.EAST HILLS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 1997--Pall Corporation (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :PLL PLL - phase-locked loop ) announced it has begun to sell to semiconductor manufacturers the one-step Separel(TM) degasification module. The announcement comes pursuant to an exclusive distribution agreement executed in December 1996 with Dainippon Ink and Chemicals, Inc. (DIC DIC diffuse intravascular coagulation; disseminated intravascular coagulation. DIC abbr. disseminated intravascular coagulation Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) ) of Tokyo, Japan. Under the terms of the agreement, Pall Corporation's Microelectronics Division has an exclusive, worldwide license, outside of Japan, to sell and distribute the Separel disposable degasification module. The Separel module is the first product of its kind that can reduce dissolved oxygen in deionized de·i·on·ize tr.v. de·i·on·ized, de·i·on·iz·ing, de·i·on·iz·es To remove ions from (a solution) using an ion-exchange process. de·i (DI) water to less than one part-per-billion in a single step. The Separel module satisfies the benefit of removing dissolved (molecule-sized) contaminants from deionized water Deionized water (DI water or de-ionized water; also spelled deionised water, see spelling differences) is water that lacks ions, such as cations from sodium, calcium, iron, copper and anions such as chloride and bromide. . The elimination of these contaminants allows fabrication fabrication (fab´rikā´sh n the construction or making of a restoration. of devices (memory or microprocessors) that can then have denser line geometries and the ability to store or process more information in less physical space. This new technology will allow Pall's Microelectronics Division to take an integrated approach to DI water management by allowing entry to the vital separations applications processes. Pall already has an established presence in the filtration applications and, more recently, the treatment of waste water. This will allow customers the benefit of relying on one vendor to support their total DI water management needs. In the U.S. alone, the realizable market potential for the Separel module is approximately $5-10 million. The distribution agreement with Dainippon Ink and Chemicals, Inc., should remain in force until December 31,1999. Pall Corporation is the international leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of fine disposable filters, membranes and other fluid clarification and separations devices for the Health Care, Aeropower and Fluid Processing markets.
